When Usercentrics CMP loads on your page it automatically detects 3rd party data processing services using the Request Monitor.
The Request Monitor detects 3rd party services as visitors browse the website. The aggregated results are added to your DPS scan overview on a daily basis.
Since the the detection of services occurs on the client side, it allows the discovery of services which would normally require very specific scanner configurations for the scanner to achieve the same result.
Because the client side discovery has some limitations, it's a supplement rather than an alternative to the monthly DPS scan.
Please note
The Request Monitor is part of the CMP, for it to be able to collect any data it must be implemented on the website and relies on traffic to it.
Due to these requirements it may take up to 24 hours to see the results.
Limitations and caveats
Because the aggregated data from the Request Monitor is processed in an predetermined time frame, there may be a delay before the results are displayed in your DPS scan overview.
Furthermore, the Request Monitor only operates for a subset of website's visitors. Therefore there might be a greater delay in detection of specific services if they load exclusively on particular pages or are triggered by very specific user interactions on websites with limited traffic.
Please note
Due to the Request Monitor being a client-side script there is a risk that it picks up services that are in fact not present on your website. Such services could for example be the result of browser-plugins that are not already added to our "ignore list".
