Usercentrics CMP doesn't manage cookies directly, it manages data processing services instead.
However, the cookies which are set by the data processing services on your website are displayed on the consent banner and in embeddings under Storage Information.
An example of cookies tied to a service
While you'll not be able to manage cookies directly, you will be able to see which cookies are set by a particular data processing service, and consent to their use by allowing or denying the dat processing service which uses them.
The reason Usercentrics manages data processing services and not cookies, is that by blocking a service, you also block the cookies it sets. Furthermore, merely loading a service will expose your IP address to the provider of this service.
It therefore makes more sense to us to allow you to control data processing services rather than cookies.
Clarification regarding the uc_session cookie
It is important to clarify that the uc_session cookie is not set by the Usercentrics CMP implementation on your website.
This cookie originates from your Usercentrics Admin Interface session (when you are logged into app.eu.usercentrics.com), and not from the CMP script or the standard consent banner running on the website.
You can easily verify this by opening your site in an incognito window while logged out of the Usercentrics Admin Interface, the uc_session cookie will not be present.
The confusion usually arises because the cookie appears to belong to our domain, but it is actually tied to the admin session, not to the CMP itself.
