What's changing
IAB Europe's Device Storage & Operational Disclosures specification has been updated to version 1.1. It introduces three new transparency requirements that affect how vendor data is disclosed in your consent banner:
- Non-TCF storage declarations:
- Vendors can now optionally declare cookies and storage used for non-TCF purposes (like global opt-out). Users will see a fuller picture of what's in use.
- Special Purposes storage declarations:
- Vendors can now declare storage tied to Special Purposes — closing a gap that existed in the previous spec.
- SDK package identifiers (required):
- Vendors must now declare the SDK package identifiers used in their mobile apps. This is the key new requirement for app environments.

You'll need to update to the latest SDK (introduced in v2.25.0) version to stay compliant. There's no hard deadline, but we recommend including this in your next scheduled release.

✅ Using the default Usercentrics UI?
You're done after the SDK update. The banner will automatically display the new fields.
🛠 Using a custom UI?
You'll need to map the three new fields manually. See Step 3 below.

Starting with v2.25.0, each service's deviceStorage object
now contains three new fields on disclosures, plus
a new sdks section.

These fields may be empty — they're optional for vendors. Make sure they're mapped and surfaced in your banner UI for each vendor's information section.
