Sign up and log in
Firstly, you need to choose the right interface to sign up and log in:
Do you have a Starter, Advanced, or Premium license? Please go to account.usercentrics.eu.
Are you a Free, Standard, Business or Enterprise client? Please log in through admin.usercentrics.eu.
Now sign up or log in using your email address and password or choose to continue with your Google or Microsoft Account. Be aware that once you choose the latter one, you won't be able to login with just your email address and password but will need to keep using the same login method.
Depending which interface you're trying to access: Once you've successfully entered the Admin Interface, you'll be able to see and manage the Settings-IDs assigned to you. Or in the case you're trying to access the Account Interface, you'll be able to see and manage the company assigned to you.
Switch from CMP version 1 to version 2
We currently have two CMP versions available and if you've previously used version 1 of our CMP you can now switch to version 2 via the dropdown in the header menu.
Please note: If you can't find the dropdown menu you're either already on version 2 or it needs to be enabled by the Usercentrics Support Team first. Feel free to contact us through our support form.
Configuration section
Now that you've switched to version 2 of our CMP, make sure the following details are entered in the Configuration section. If you don't know what a configuration is, please read this short article first.
Under Setup please fill out the General Information and choose your Language Settings. Mandatory details are Configuration Name and the Domain. Under Legal Specification you will see which framework you've chosen for this configuration and you can select the DPS details that will be shown. Within CMP Settings you'll find further features like the Google Consent Mode or specifications about the Resurface of your CMP.
Service Settings and DPS Scanner
Navigate to Service Settings and start the Initial Website Scan of your website by entering the domain in the DPS Scanner. The DPS Scanner scans your Website for Data Processing Services being active on your Website (whether knowingly or not) and need to be consented by the user, according to data protection regulations. Here we explain, what a DPS exactly is.
Service Categories
Within the same section you'll find the Data Processing Services and Categories tabs.
The categories Marketing, Functional and Essential are available by default but you can add or customize your own categories based on your needs. Assign the Data Processing Services (DPS) to the dedicated categories. You can either use our predefined categories or create your own categories to suit your requirements.
Add all relevant technologies / Data Processing Services
Add all relevant technologies for your website indicated through the initial website scan. In each row of the DPS Scanner results you will be able to click on Add Service or Create Service to add a Service as DPS.
Please note: The Scripts of all technologies used need to be adjusted in accordance with the Usercentrics implementation guidelines, whether you implemented them directly to your Website code, or through a Tag Management System (f.e. Google Tag Manager). If they're not adjusted, the technologies won't be blocked. Please find the technical documentation and Implementation Guide here.
Furthermore, Usercentrics provides predefined DPS through a database, you can add them by clicking Add Service. If you're missing a specific DPS, you can create your own (customized) DPS with the action Create Service. If you prefer to change a DPS partially, you can adjust a predefined DPS by clicking Customize Predefined Service.
Check out our page all about the DPS Scanner here.
Appearance Section
Configure the design of your CMP easily in the Appearance section. Using the Styling tab, you can adjust the brand colors, logo, buttons and more. Furthermore, in the Layout tab you can define the first and second layer settings and the privacy trigger.
If you're using our Premium plan you'll have additional features such as CSS customization and Browser SDK, which will allow further customization of your CMP.
Frequently asked questions about this section can be found here.
Content Section
This section allows you to configure the content displayed to your users by the CMP layers. Define the texts and links for all elements and layer of your CMP and link your Imprint and Privacy Policy under the item First Layer.
Implementation
Copy the CMP Script Tag from the Implementation tab and implement it to the head section of your website. Find all Implementation Guides here.
DPS Scanner
After the launch of your CMP you can regularly check the results of the DPS Scanner. It monitors your website daily and updates the overview accordingly. The DPS Scanner may monitor piggybacking technologies not integrated directly on your Website. These technologies can be added as Subconsents in the Service Settings section.
Please be aware: Before adding additional Data Processing Services to your CMP, we recommend checking with your Data Protection Officer first.
Here you can find further information on our DPS Scanner.
Analytics
After the Go-Live of your CMP check the Analytics tab to get an overview of how users are interacting with your Consent Management Platform. Use the reports to monitor your opt-in rates and for initiation of optimization measurements of your CMP.
Here's our documentation on Granular Analytics and Interaction Analytics, as well as frequently asked questions and appropriate answers can be found here.
